About us
Ever since the founding of Beckers Furniture in 1910, four generations of the Beckers family have built up extensive expertise and a large network of customers and suppliers.
How it started
Theo Beckers senior founded the furniture store in 1910 in Amstenrade and moved to Akerstraat Noord in Hoensbroek four years later. In addition to a wide range of furniture, the family business also sold windows and doors that were made in their own workshop.
Internationalization
After the second World War, (the second generation) Constant Beckers takes over the company. The business grows into a complete home design with curtains, carpeting and lighting. Also a love is born for international designer furniture, including Danish furniture.
Tailor-made
In the sixties, the workshop gains an increasingly prominent position within the company. All kinds of custom-made furniture is made from – mainly – solid oak within their own carpenter shop at the Hommerterweg in Hoensbroek. Craftsmanship was, and still is, highly valuated.
Danish furniture
The third generation Beckers (Theo & Marlou) emphasizes the love for Danish furniture even more in 1988. The new owners decide to change course and focus more on the store, instead of the workshop. In addition to the beautiful designed Danish furniture, a start is made with the rental of complete interiors to soldiers and expats. And when this branch of the company is experiencing rapid growth and a lack of space arises, a new subsidiary "Beckers Sales & Rental" is established in August 2013 on Pijler 32 in Brunssum.
Furniture Rental
Then the fourth generation (Stan) Beckers joins the family business and the rental branch continues to grow. In 2019, it was decided to close down the old company Beckers Danish Design Furniture on Akerstraat Noord in Hoensbroek. The assortment in Brunssum is being expanded further and the spacious showroom gives a nice overview of collections for both sales and furniture rental.
